“The new smartphone carries the model number M1912G7BE and could be the rumoured Poco F2”
A new Xiaomi smartphone with model number M1912G7BE/C has been spotted on Chinese certification site 3C. The listing doesn’t reveal a lot of details regarding the phone, but it does say that the upcoming handset will support 27W fast charging. That’s about the only details that we currently know about this device. Prior to this, another Xiaomi device with 5G support had received certification from 3C. That device is thought to be the rumoured Redmi K30, but nothing has been confirmed as of now. So it seems the Chinese manufacturer plans on launching a couple of new devices before the end of 2019 or in early 2020.
Currently, Xiaomi sells a 27W SonicCharge Adapter for the Redmi K20 series. Several rumours have reported that Xiaomi could launch the POCO F2 with specifications similar to the Redmi K20 Pro. Take this with a pinch of salt, but the device spotted on 3C could just be the much rumoured POCO F2. There haven’t been a lot of leaks for this phone, but recently, case-maker Spigen published some images of a case designed for the POCOPHONE F2. The case design did shed some light on what the POCO F2 could look like.
As per the leaked images of the Spigen case, the POCO F2 could have a full-screen display without any notch. The phone could feature a pop-up selfie camera and a centrally placed triple-rear camera setup. The design shows that the camera setup has a ring around the top sensor, which is similar to what’s seen on the Redmi K20 series. The back panel isn’t revealed, so we can’t tell if the phone will have a glass back or a plastic one like the POCO F1.
The POCO F2 is widely expected to be an affordable flagship similar to the Redmi K20 Pro, and should be powered by the Snapdragon 855 chipset. If the POCO F2 is indeed in the works, then Xiaomi should make an official announcement soon. We expect Xiaomi to launch the phone by the end of 2019 and it should be priced below the Redmi K20 series.
