“POCO has started teasing the launch of its next smartphone, which could either be called POCO F2 or POCO X2”
POCO will be launching its first smartphone since 2018 in India soon. The vendor, which is no longer a sub-brand of Xiaomi – following last week’s announcement, has tweeted a teaser video via its official account on Twitter. The tweet reads “#POCOIsHere and it’ll give chills to others. IYKWWM. Season 2 is live now! Brace yourself for the impact.” It’s likely that POCO is gearing up for a new smartphone, which will succeed the POCO F1 launched a couple of years ago. While rumours are rife that the handset could be dubbed as POCO F2, there are also reports that it could be called the POCO X2.
As of now, there is little to no information available about the POCO F2 or POCO X2. It is believed that POCO will introduce at least three smartphones this year, that includes the rumoured POCO F2 Lite. The handset has been doing the rounds of the internet quite a bit lately. Most recently, the phone was spotted on BIS certification site with the same model number as the Redmi K30. It’s being speculated that the POCO F2 Lite could be nothing but a rebranded version of the Redmi K30 smartphone, which was launched in China back in December.
If that’s the case, the POCO F2 Lite may rock Snapdragon 765G SoC and a 6.67-inch Full-HD+ display with oblong punch-hole for dual selfie cameras at the top right corner. The phone may come with both 4G (with Snapdragon 730G chipset) and 5G connectivity options. In optics, it’s likely to sport a quad-rear camera setup with 64MP Sony IMX686 image sensor in the primary module, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide angle unit, a 5-megapixel macro photography unit, and a 2-megapixel depth assisting unit. The front camera of the phone could get a 20MP and 2MP shooters for selfies and video calling.
