“The Watch GT 2 features Huawei’s self-developed Kirin A1 wearable chipset and boasts a 2-week battery life”
Huawei Watch GT 2 will launch in India soon as the company has now announced that the ‘Notify Me’ option is now live on the Huawei India website. The launch of the Watch GT 2 was expected ever since Huawei announced the Kirin A1 chipset in India earlier this month. Huawei Watch GT 2 is powered by the new Kirin A1 SoC, which better power efficiency and enables the smartwatch to deliver a 2-week battery life.
The Huawei Watch GT 2 will be available for purchase on both Amazon India and Flipkart, the company confirms. Huawei did not reveal the official pricing for the smartwatch, but expect it to be priced under Rs 20,000. To recall, the previous generation Watch GT was launched in India starting at Rs 15,990.
Huawei Watch GT is the first smartwatch from Huawei to feature the Kirin A1 chipset. Huawei unveiled this chipset earlier this month in India as it aims to build a strong ecosystem for the wearable segment in the country. Huawei Watch GT 2 with the Kirin A1 SoC will allow the company to take on popular smartwatches from the likes of Apple and Samsung.
Huawei Watch GT 2 is available in two cases sizes – 46mm and 42mm, with 1.39-inch and 1.2-inch AMOLED display, respectively. It offers Bluetooth connectivity and GPS support, along with a myriad of sensors such as optical heart rate sensor, air pressure sensor, gyroscope, accelerometer, and more. The larger 46mm Watch GT 2 claims to offer a 2-week battery life, whereas the smaller 42mm variant will last for up to 7 days on a single charge. Of course, the Watch GT 2’s battery life will decrease considerably with continuous heart-rate monitoring enabled. The smaller smartwatch offers 5ATM water resistance and works with both Android and iOS smartphones.
