Huawei Watch GT 2 smartwatch is now official in India and the wearable has become the first device from the brand to feature the Kirin A1 chipset in the country. Huawei launched the Kirin A1 SoC in India a few days ago, and the company has now launched the Watch GT 2. The successor to the Watch GT has been claimed to offer 2 weeks of battery life on a single charge. Further, the Huawei Watch GT 2 supports Bluetooth calling, in-device music, and capacity to store and play 500 songs, the brand said in its release.
“The Kirin A1 chipset integrates an advanced Bluetooth processing unit, a powerful audio processing unit, an ultra-low power consumption application processor and a separate power management unit. In daily use the Huawei Watch GT-2 can operate continuously for up to two weeks with both the intelligent heart rate monitor and call notification functions,” Huawei added.
Huawei Watch GT 2 Price and availability
Huawei Watch GT 2 price in India starts at Rs 14,990, which will be the price tag for the 42mm variant. The 46mm Sport (Black) variant will be available for Rs 15,990 in the country while the 46mm (Leather) variant and 46mm (Metal) variant will retail for Rs 17,990 and Rs 21,990 in the country. The Watch GT 2 will be available across Flipkart, Amazon, Croma, and leading offline retail stores. First sale of the smartwatch will start from December 19th at 12 a.m and will go on until December 30th.
The brand says that as part of the pre-sale activity, the customers will be able to book the watch from 12 a.m. onwards, between December 12th and December 18th. Notably, these customers will get a Huawei Freelace worth Rs 6,999 free. However, these customers will be required to make the full payment at the time of booking the watch.
Huawei Watch GT 2 features
Huawei Watch GT 2 comes in two variants – 42mm variant with 1.2 inch AMOLED display and 46mm variant with 1.39 inch AMOLED display. The smartwatch is capable of tracking 15 activities, which include outdoor activities like running, walking, climbing, hiking trail running, cycling and some indoor activities like walking, swimming, free training etc. The brand says that with the heart rate monitoring feature, the user will be notified if the heart rate is above 100bpm or below 50bpm for more than 10 minutes. Interestingly, the watch also comes with a sleep monitoring function.
